Our shortlist of hotels in Montrose, Colorado: every qualifying property within 12 miles of the centre, with the reason behind each pick.
Montrose functions mostly as the gateway to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, about 15 miles east, and as the airport for the Telluride and Ouray corridor. It is a working western Colorado town rather than a resort, and the qualifying inventory reflects that.
Areas covered: Downtown Montrose, Black Canyon corridor, Uncompahgre Valley.
Selection radius: properties within 12 miles of the centre of Montrose, measured from coordinates in our source data.

We start from every hotel, inn, resort, lodge and bed & breakfast in our United States dataset that scores 8.5 or higher on Booking.com with at least 100 guest reviews. For this page we then looked only at properties in Montrose. See how we select hotels.
Only 1 qualifying stay here. That is below the five-property minimum we set for a shortlist worth publishing, so this page is not in our search index. We are showing what we have rather than padding the list with properties we would not pick.
